Community minded residents have a personal interest in each other and a strong community pride in their local churches, school, and community. Citizens have a winning attitude which spreads across sports, their lives, and their jobs. Community Organizations:
- Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts
- Tatum Heritage House - Provides a meal on Thursday and game activities for senior citizens as well as a place for booking a private party for anyone in the community.
- Lions Club - This world's largest civic club has an active club in Tatum that supports the community and both national and International activities.
- Kiwanis Club - This club sponsors a local high school Key Club member and the Tatum Middle School Builders Club, through the schools giving students an opportunity for community service and scholarships.
- Garden Club - This club concentrates on the beautification of Tatum with special emphasis on the Tatum Public Library's grounds.
- 4-H Club - Members show animals at Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, and in many local shows as well as participating in many other special projects.
